Student Teachers
Heart Prints Center for Early Education will be used by local colleges and universities as a site for student teaching and field experiences for early childhood professionals. This means that university students could be assisting in the day to day activities within the Center.  Students participating in the Center as a part of their teacher preparation will be under the supervision of the director, who is a faculty member of Carlow University in the School of Education.  Heart Prints will also be available as an observation site to local early childhood professionals interested in the unique conflict management aspects of our curriculum.

Teacher/Child Ratios

  • Our teacher/child ratio is 1 teacher/7 children.

  • Our maximum group size is 21 children.

  • Heart Prints will always have at least 2 teachers working together in our programs.

  • When the class size reaches 15 or more children, 3 teachers will be present.

  • Student teachers will not count as part of the teacher/child ratio.

Teaching Tools
Our teaching staff will implement a variety of tools within the early childhood classroom including:

  • Flexibility in group size
